RAWALPINDI: Two Pakistanis, including a minor, were killed and 14 others sustained injuries along the Working Boundary area in Sialkot district during an exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani security forces on Tuesday.

An Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement said two civilians ─ including a minor ─ were killed due to “unprovoked firing” by Indian troops in Sukhial village.

Women and children are included among the 14 wounded in the exchange of fire in the Pukhlian and Bajwat sectors, the ISPR said. ISPR said that “unprovoked shelling” across the Working Boundary in Sukhial village injured three children and two women. Pakistani troops responded to the shelling in a befitting manner, ISPR added.

Like people, animals are also facing the brutalities of shelling across the border. Scores of the residents of the border areas near working boundary in Sialkot district have migrated to safer places in the wake of frequent shelling by Indian forces and retaliation by the Pakistani troops.
